    Chesapeake Chapter of the U.S. Lighthouse Society - Focuses on implementing the U.S. Lighthouse Society's goals in the Chesapeake Bay area
    Delaware River and Bay Lighthouse Foundation, Inc. - Dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the Delaware River & Bay lighthouses.
    Florida Lighthouse Association - A not-for-profit organization chartered by the State of Florida for the preservation of Florida's lighthouses and maritime heritage.

    Hudson River Lightkeepers
    National Lighthouse Center and Museum - The mission of the National Lighthouse Center and Museum is to broaden the public's appreciation and understanding of America's lighthouse heritage.
    New Jersey Lighthouse Society - A nonprofit educational corporation dedicated to the history and preservation of lighthouses everywhere.
    Outer Banks Lighthouse Society, North Carolina. Organized in 1994 to aid in the preservation of the lighthouses in the area.
    Save the Light - Working to save Morris Island Light in South Carolina.
   Shore Village Museum - In Rockland, Maine, a unique collection of historic artifacts of the United States Coast Guard and the U.S.Lighthouse Service.
   United States Coast Guard - Maintaining over 96,000 aids to navigation in the U.S.
   United States Lighthouse Society - A non-profit historical and educational organization incorporated to educate, inform, and entertain those who are interested in America's lighthouses, past and present.
    Yaquina Lights (Oregon) - Their mission is to interpret the Yaquina Bay and Yaquina Head Lighthouses and surrounding area to the public by providing educational programs and offering items for marketing related to natural and cultural history.

    Lighthouse Society of Newfoundland and Labrador - Founded to facilitate the preservation of the province's light stations and to preserve and communicate their histories.
    Nova Scotia Lighthouse Preservation Society -Founded in 1994, promoting awareness and preservation of Nova Scotian lighthouses.
    Huronia Lightstation Preservation Society - Working to restore Hope Island Lighthouse and others on Lake Huron.
    New Brunswick Lighthouse Society - A non-profit organization dedicated to the protection, promotion and preservation of the province's remaining lighthouses.

   U.S. Coast Guard - Resources of the Historian's Office - A tremendous resource from webmaster Scott Price, Historian, U.S. Coast Guard.
    Fred's Place - A great place for ex-Coast Guard personnel to meet.
    Library of Congress Homepage - Go to the American Memory Collection and try a search for "lighthouse" and you'll find some interesting documents and pictures. You can also search their library catalog for more lighthouse materials.
    Lighthouses and ships within the National Park System (National Maritime Initiative)
   Inventory of Historic Light Stations by the National Maritime Initiative.
   Historic Lighthouse Preservation Handbook is also contained on the National Maritime Initiative site. If you have Adobe Acrobat Reader you can download sections of the handbook. It includes a great deal on the history of lighthouses and is fascinating reading even if you're not directly involved in preserving a lighthouse.
